An arcade piece in one act
A short run through the other side. You capture what is on the map, and the map changes with what you captured — so the route never repeats the same way twice.
Written for a single sitting: you walk in, the run begins, and it is over before the house lights come up.
The name
A marquee is the sign above a theater. Big red letters, lit up, naming what's playing tonight.
We chose it because of what it implies. Anyone walking past can read that sign and decide to go in. You don't need to have seen anything before it. The show stands on its own, it starts when you sit down, and it's complete when you leave.
That's the kind of game we want to make. Titles you can pick up on any given night and enjoy from beginning to end, without homework. Easy to walk into, worth the price of admission, good enough to come back for.
Every game we finish goes up on the sign. That's the whole job.
